A comprehensive, proven process for NICU UM/CM
Reduce costs without compromising care. Improve member satisfaction and health plan quality scores.
ProgenyHealth’s data-driven program begins upon admission to the NICU and continues throughout the early crucial months of life to ensure a healthy outcome for each infant. Our UM team engages with the onsite hospital-based care team shortly after the infant’s admission to the NICU.
Our CM team works in close coordination with their UM colleagues at ProgenyHealth, to proactively reach out to the family early on, while the baby is still in the NICU. The family is provided with a dedicated case manager who works to educate them and support discharge planning activities, to ensure a safe transition to home when the infant is ready for discharge.
Our process is proactive, intentionally integrated, and proven effective.
A purpose-built technology platform
Baby Trax Mobile – the NICU infant app for moms and caregivers
Engaging families is critical to achieving healthy outcomes for premature and medically complex infants. That’s why we created the free Baby Trax mobile app as a complement to ProgenyHealth’s telephonic services.
It’s a fun and convenient way we keep your members engaged in our program.

Recognized NICU UM and CM specialists: the people that power our engine
Led by board certified neonatologists. Staffed by dedicated NICU / pediatric nurses and social workers. We deliver a customized continuum of care throughout the first crucial months of life. ProgenyHealth’s team of 100+ clinical specialists work as one integrated UM and CM unit. Every one of them brings the NICU experience needed to the case, keeping a watchful eye on each infant’s care plan.
One team, collaborating for every infant’s health
The ProgenyHealth UM team collaborates with NICU hospital staff to help standardize care — pursuing our mutual goal that each infant receives the most appropriate treatment for their specific medical condition. Doing so results in babies coming home healthy, at the right time, and with a lower rate of readmissions to the hospital / ER.
Our Case Managers: the lifeline for clinical and emotional support when families need it most
We understand that bringing an infant home after a NICU stay can be stressful for families, and the coordination of necessary resources confusing. That’s why our Case Management department is a comprehensive neonatal telephonic support service consisting of NICU and pediatric nurse case managers, social workers, and associates. This team outreaches to families during the inpatient stay, assesses overall needs, and collaborates with hospital staff to safely transition from the hospital to home. Each family is matched with one dedicated case manager who then continues to provide support and care coordination throughout the early months of life, helping moms and/or caregivers of NICU babies with ongoing needs.
