ProgenyHealth® Announces Commitment to Feeding America® Hunger-Relief Programs

Plymouth Meeting, PA, September 9, 2019 – ProgenyHealth, LLC, provider of utilization management, case management, and payment integrity solutions for NICU populations, today announces its support of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. Beginning in June 2019, ProgenyHealth will help provide over 500,000 meals* this year to children and families in need through Feeding America and 22 local member food banks that are located in its service area.

ProgenyHealth integrates and aligns the efforts of families, providers, and payers nationwide to help improve health outcomes for high-risk newborns. The company’s comprehensive services help identify and solve the varied, complex challenges that impact these cases, from birth throughout the first year of life.

According to Ellie Stang, MD, ProgenyHealth’s Founder and CEO, the support of Feeding America is in line with the company’s core values and mission to improve the health outcomes of vulnerable newborns and their families. Dr. Stang states that, “The Progeny team wants to be part of the solution and play an active role in solving hunger in this country. Food insecurity is a significant issue for many families in the communities that we serve. Our case managers see this problem every day and work tirelessly to solve it, along with other social determinants of health issues, to ensure newborns and their families are living in safe, supported home environments. That simply can’t happen where hunger exists. We’re very excited to make this commitment to Feeding America that directly links ProgenyHealth’s efforts to the feeding of children and families in the neighborhoods that we are so fortunate to serve. We look forward to making an exponential impact on hunger in America as we grow and partner with more health plans across the country.”

$1 helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
